The holidays often dictate certain behaviors that have been prevalent and what they require of each individual often causes stress. It is time to let go of traditions of spending. The first is in regard to spending to make an impression. You aren’t supposed to give gifts to make an impression, especially to make yourself look good.
The point of giving gifts is to honor the individual for whom the gift is for and should be completely about them and their desires. If, however, the gift they desire is beyond your means, it is not necessarily appropriate to create debt for the gift. If you give a gift with debts attached to it, you have given the recipient a gift with strings. Even though you believe they are your strings because you have created the debt, you have still given a gift with strings that effect the recipient. It is much better to give a gift within your means and from your heart that will make someone else’s heart sing than give something from the conscious mind that fills an emotional need for either party.
Give from your heart and within your means. If you want to give more than you can afford, create the means to afford it before you buy the gift or be prepared to give a gift with strings that comes with a negative effect attached to it.
There is more that goes on than meets the eye and it is time that mankind understood the dynamic of their actions.
